CAP Theatre Updates Surrounding COVID-19 Closure
It is with a heavy heart that our board of directors made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming production of Into the Woods, Jr. this June. We could not ensure that we would be able to safely conduct auditions or rehearsals during the COVID-19 health pandemic. We know that this is disappointing not only to our board, but to our community and to the young people who thrive within the walls of our theatre. Our board will continue to monitor the health crisis and follow the advice of health officials during this difficult time about future productions and events planned throughout the summer and beyond.
Our board has worked to ensure that our theatre is on strong financial footing to get us through emergencies. However, as with any non-profit community theatre, the majority of our regular revenue to pay for the upkeep of our theatre is generated from ticket sales. With this announcement of canceling a second set of shows, any support from our community would be greatly appreciated. If you are able to support the theatre at this time, you can make a donation at paypal or send a check to CAP Theatre, 201 1st Ave S, Altoona, Iowa 50009 to help us continue our mission of giving young people, regardless of experience, the opportunity to be part of and appreciate live theatre.
Thank you for your support,
Class Act Productions
