At our core:

We believe all children have a right to understand the world around them and their place in it. We believe all children have a voice to be heard and an idea to offer. We challenge your children to be confident, expressive and genuine. We just happen to do children’s theatre.

Temporary Closure

Due to the COVID-19 global pandemic our theatre is currently closed to in-person theatre.  We are exploring opportunities to engage young people with theatre in digital formats through workshops and other avenues.  Check out our facebook page for updates.  To support us during this closure visit http://www.captheatre.org/supporting-cap-theatre/

On December 2, 2020, Governor Kim Reynolds allocated $7 million of federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act funding to the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs for the purpose of providing economic relief to Iowa’s arts and culture industry. The funding is administered by the Iowa Arts Council, on behalf of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, through the Iowa Arts & Culture Emergency Relief Fund. CAP Theatre received a $4,000 grant award.

Support provided by Governor Kim Reynolds and the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs, through the federal CARES Act.
